Virus

I may not be posting a whole lot because my lovely little donated laptop has caught a nasty little virus. I’m working now on a very old computer, but at least us two geeks had a backup around for me to use.

I’m running an extensive virus scan in hopes that it can be fixed, but I’m pretty sure already that I’ll have to wipe it & start all over again. It really is a good thing that I got into the habit of putting all my files on an external drive the last time I had a computer crash.

& I found out today I have to go on cholesterol meds.
& Our rent is going up January 1st.

I’ve had better days.

  1. When you posted this in Twitter, I was going to tweet that I was sorry to hear it, butsomeone doesn’t follow me. 😉

I hope the virus scan is successful in cleaning up your computer. Very smart of you to have proper backup of important files at least.

Sorry about the cholesterol meds and the rent. Nothing redeeming there, I know. Hope your days improve!

  2. I was put on lipitor quite a while back, cause my chol. hit 255. However, after a few years now of a semi-vegetarian diet (about 50% less meat), plus less dairy (milk and cheese substitutes), I’m now cutting back on the lipitor dosage (with the doctor’s knowledge), and my cholesterol is staying at the 185 level. I’ve seen several studies that it’s not just the fat content of the food, but often the kinds of foods as well. the meat substitutes are quite impressive (and I cook kind of for a living) and tasty and widely varied, but the effects of cutting dairy out (and moving to soy and rice substitutes) really surprised me. And my sinuses are a lot clearer too.

good luck. My wife actually went veg 20 years ago to avoid the chol. Rx’s, and her numbers run like 165 now. So, you may have a choice if you want it.
