Unless that old Roy Scheider TV show, SeaQuest DSV had any novelizations, the only one that springs to mind is Brin’s Uplift universe, in books such as _Startide Rising_.
The Douglas Adams Hitchiker’s Guide to the Galaxy trilogy, particularly book #4, “Goodbye and Thanks For All the Fish”.
