National Coming Out Day

National Coming Out Day is October 11th – so who are you coming out to this year?

  1. I very recently came out to a cashier at REI (an outdoor equipment store). I had a long dormant membership (in the old boy name) that I tried “reactivate.” I told the clerk that I used to be a guy (well, sort of!). She was totally cool about it so I was very pleased. The next day I called their 800 customer service number and came out there as well. The whole experience felt like opening a time capsule from the pre-transition/early transition days. Does that count? :-)

  2. I don’t think I have anyone left to come out to. Everyone for whom my dual wardrobe could be relevant already knows.

  3. What about Santa Claus? I don’t know how tolerate he typically is, but I’d rather get perfume, lingerie and other things than coal.

  4. I’m out to everyone that I can be **SAFELY** out to by this time. People who I am NOT out to include my handlers that I freelance for, my neighbors, certain ex-girlfriends, and my extended family which includes a whole coterie of good ole’ bubba boys who are klan members. But I’m out to just about every one else. 😀
