		<description>Might not be a bad idea for someone to write a trans specific version of this; how to protect oneself if a partner is transitioning. I suspect a lot of partners get blind-sided by the cost of transition and perhaps decide to separate or divorce just as the joint resources are depleted. 

Things like credit, mutual savings, retirement, home equity - but also stuff like social security benefits (does legal gender change affect a spouse&#039;s standing in terms of retirement or survivor benefits?), the possibility of a career or job loss / change (consider that one&#039;s spouse may decide to change jobs along wiht genders), etc.</description>
