President Bush vetoed a bill that would include an additional 4 million more American children in the State Children’s Health Insurance Program. It’s the 4th veto of his presidency, and nearly got the votes to override, but didn’t as a result of the House vote.
There will be an attempt, on 10/18, to try the override again. Female politicians were in favor 72%, with male politicians coming in at a bare majority of 51%.

Bush says he talks with God.
I’m not sure Bush hears God very well.
To call George W. Bush a sociopath and a son of a bitch is an insult to sociopaths and sons of bitches.
SNL was funny about this:
“To quote President Bush, ‘I hate kids.’”
OK so I’m going to say something, NOT pro Bush, but against that particular version of the bill.
Has anyone looked at the incom limits that would be included, a family of 4 making 80K a year would qualify. I supported my kid’s on 22K a year for the 3 of us, bought health insurance privatly and kept us clothed and fed. I had no luxuries. That was 15 years ago, yes things cost more now, but I think a family of 4 making 80 K can afford there own health insurance, perhaps a few less computer games and fast food meals.
Sign me, Old Grouch
Bravo. Where I came from, if you didn’t have the financial, emotional or physical wherewithal to care for children, you made sure you didn’t bring any into the world. Since when did rug rats become entitlements?
There is a solution. If you believe in socialism, why not move to a Scandinavian country, or one of the socialist societies overseas? I’m sure that those places provide free healthcare to anyone to wants it.
well that was Not my point, children are a gift from God, or Mother Nature or what ever you like, and need good care. I was saying that there has to be a reasonable cut off point for income, past that folks need to pay there own way.
