She really does have a thing for sleeping on manuscripts. The real kicker is that I’m not allowed to pet her (or she tries to bite me) or move her (I lose my hand to her) or try to get my manuscript out from under her (if I even think it, she starts growling).

Does your cat walk around on the computer keyboard while you’re trying to type? Right now, Rumford is snoozing on the heated waterbed (which is adequately protected against his claws by three, thick layers of padding).
I think that pets provide a window into people’s souls. If my pets like a visitor, I trust them. If my pets are wary, I’m wary too. Are you getting your cat a holiday gift box?
