Mara is really very impressive. I applaud her. Additionally, I think her point about not allowing GR surgery to be the entry ticket to ones societal gender is a very good point. I understand why most people in and out of our community do accept that marker event as the final determinant, but it really does disenfranchise many. We have to think about that in our community and perhaps stop asking "are you pre- or post-?" Perhaps, in some small way, we can make a stride in that direction by not trying to use that marker to determine legitimacy of gender. Thanks for a great interview Helen.

Gracie.... Mara is one of the neatest people you will ever meet. If you are at an event where she is speaking, track her down and say "Hello".....

Helen.... Thanks for interviewing Mara! She rocks and so do you!

Hi Helen and Mara,

Thank you for a great interview.

In only 5 questions I became more enlightened about the NCTE and the TG'd community than I would have thought possible.

Thanks!
