[...] The organizers worked hard to get Jamison Green out to Salt Lake. James has been a huge player in the trans community for decades now, fighting political battles, teaching organizations about trans-inclusion, and leading trans communities towards their goals. You can read a great interview with him here. He is speaking a few times on various topics this weekend, and this morning he lead a forum for all us Salt Lake trannies to talk about how we want to build our community.
Thanks for the interesting comments. They whetted my appetite to read your book. Currently, I have just begun attending a support group for transitioning trans people. We have 4MTFs and 3FTMs at various stages of transition. The differences in our personalities is significantly greater than the differences between our trans issues (surgical procedures aside). Initially, there was a twinge of disappointment when I had learned that we would be a 'mixed' group. I'm glad that I had the opportunity to be disabused of that notion in short order.
